PATHÉ 9.5MM REFERENCE NUMBERS
by Grahame L. Newnham B.Sc.

      PATHÉ 9.5MM EQUIPMENT/ACCESSORIES REFERENCE NUMBERS
     ---------------------------------------------------
These reference numbers seem to have originated in France and used in the
UK for the Pathé-Baby products imported from France. Pathéscope in the UK
seem to have used these and maybe added a few themselves, but from the mid
1930s reference numbers seem to have been used less and less in the UK.
I assume "C" prefix refers to filming items (camera) and "P" for projection.

Dates are when first identified in a Pathescope catalogue
Price is the original listed - many items increased in price later
To see what these items look like you need a 1930s Pathescope catalogue!
Prices are shown as they were in the 1920s and 1930s in pre-decimal
UK pounds, shillings and pence. The pounds remain the same, but there
were 20 shillings to the pound and twelve pence to the shilling.
So £1.10.0 (one pound, ten shillings) would be £1.50 today.
10/6 (ten shillings and sixpence) would be 52.5p today etc.

PATHÉ 9.5MM INSTRUCTION SHEETS / BOOKS REFERENCE NUMBERS
     --------------------------------------------------------
Originally all the instruction sheets for Pathé-Baby products were produced in France for
all the Pathé-Baby 'franchises' around the world. Naturally they were produced in various
languages, usually all on the same sheet. Sometimes the languages were spread over two or
three sets of sheets - Series A, B, C etc. French and English were normally on Series A!
Instructions were printed on thin paper - the size being rather random - the more detail,
the bigger the sheet. Naturally items like cameras and projectors had proper instruction
books with decent glazed paper and card covers. The proper instruction books are listed
with (book) in the title. Later instruction sheets and booklets for British Pathéscope
products don't seem to have used these reference numbers.
The instruction sheets had unique numbers starting with N. I have begun to list these below.
Dates were actually printed DD.MM.YY but I have included leading zeros and the full year to
make it easier to read.

Sorry. if the sheet doesn't actually list the languages, some maybe a bit of a guess!

Many more ref. numbers may have been used in France or overseas, maybe we need separate lists;
if you have other UK Pathe reference numbers, please let me know and I'll add them to the list.
